A MAROON CHRISTMAS

Twas the nicht afore Christmas
There wiz scarcely a soon’
We thank wir lucky stars
|It’s jist great tae be a Maroon

Santa’s gettin’ ready
Tae ging oot on his Sleigh
An’ we’re a’ gearin’ up
For a Scottish Cup win this Boxing Day

I hope ye’ve a’ been guid
Those of a Keith FC persuasion
Dinna ett an’ drink too much
On this very festive occasion

Dinna shove the bairns oot o’ the road
So ye can play wi’ a’ their toys
Save yer strength for Setterday
Tae cheer on Cammy an’ the boys

We’re playin’ Hill of Beath Hawthorn
Fit an affa quaint name
Bit they’ve got tae the first roon’
So they must ken the game

Noo, een o’ Scotland’s finest
Jim Baxter cam’ fae there
A star amon’ stars
There’s nae mony cwid compare

Decorations are a’ aroon
The Christmas Tree is up
The turkey’s in the oven
An’ we’re a’ up for the Cup

The Brusslers are nearly biled
Pigs’n Blankets almost cooked an’ a’
The Roasters an’ the stuffin’
Oor boys’ll be ready tae kick the ba’

Early tae bed on Christmas nicht
So we dinna let the side doon
Hopefully we’ll nae be “trifled” wi’
As we aim tae get intae Roon’ Two!!
